Performance- act of staging/ presenting a play, concert or other for of entertainment
i.e. Beneath Your Beautiful, Labrinth feat. Emeli Sandé

Narrative- series of connected events usually forming a part of a whole story
i.e. No Church In The Wild,  Kanye West & Jay Z

Concept- an abstract narrative
i.e.  Gold Dust, DJ Fresh

Will Firths theory work in 2013?
I don't think Firths theory works for the music videos in 2013 because some music videos may not fit into these three categories.Also, most music videos are a mixture of these theories and it is difficult to find ones that fit in specific categories for example, Cant Hold Us-Macklemore fits into concept and performance.
