The Key Conventions of Music Video

After looking at different music videos in our lesson including, Love is Easy by Mcfly we came up with conventions that we saw in the various music videos.

Key conventions: 

• Sound matches narrative
• Artist appearing in video
• Extreme close ups
• showing instruments and artists playing them
• tracking shots
• Low shots- more powerful
• Slow motion
• Artist performing in shot
• Fluid camera movement
• Lyrics match narrative
• Visuals represent sound
